wdl have worked in several universities in recent years.  Our latest project is a refurbishment project for the University of Manchester Students’ Union.  We are thrilled to be working on this students’ union project, which is for the UK’s largest students’ union at the country’s largest single site university.

We are once again partnered with Peels Design and Build on this project.  We have worked with Peels on a number of highly successful projects for students’ unions and  has helped us to give Manchester University a creative, practical and cost-effective solution in response to the complex brief.

Working alongside  Peels we have produced design solutions within fixed budgets and integrated environmental, disabled access facilities and customer service requirements  into our plans.

If you want someone with great ideas  then get in touch with us for a down to earth realistic approach to your project.

We have worked on interior design projects for a number of students’ unions.  These include Chelsea School of Art, which was a scheme to provide a new contemporary cafe bar for students and visitors.  Another was the University of Bath Student Union.  This was a scheme won in a competition in 2010 which was to fit out a new purpose-built student centre housing a reception, various social and meeting spaces with a cafe and large bar area.

We were also very proud to be involved with a project at the University of Leeds Students’ Union.  This was also a scheme won in a competition, which involved remodelling and refurbishing the main foyer and terrace bar areas of the union building.  Working to a fixed budget and timetable, this major project was completed in September 2010 as the first phase of a three-year master plan.  Alteration work to the first floor offices and meeting rooms has also been completed, with other projects now earmarked.
